A New Queen Size Box Spring Calls For A New Duvet

So you’ve found the perfect new queen size box spring. Now your task is to find the perfect new duvet to go on your new box spring. Shopping for the perfect duvet can be a fun task.

First, you must decide on the colors for your room. Once you decide on your colors you need to decide if you want a plain colored duvet or if you want a design on your duvet. The next task is to decide if you want a fluffy duvet or if you would rather have a duvet that is thin.

If you decide you want a fluffy duvet, then you have a couple of choices. One fluffy duvet choice is a duvet made of down. These duvets are extremely fluffy, warm and soft. However, down duvets are constantly losing feathers and thus getting feathers all over the bed and floor. An alternative to down duvets is the microfiber duvet. The microfiber duvet is just as fluffy, soft and warm as the down duvet, but does not shed feathers. Also, the microfiber duvet is hypoallergenic.

If, however, you decide that the microfibre duvet will be too warm or fluffy for your taste, you can go the route of getting a summer duvet. The summer duvet will be made of a lighter and more airy fabric.
Summer duvets and microfiber duvets can be found in the same place. Their prices are comparable. Both come in a variety of colors and design choices. It, then becomes you to ask yourself, “Do I want something super fluffy and warm, or would I rather have something light and airy?” Once your question is answered, it is time to have fun shopping for your new box spring!

What is the Best Kind of Duvet for My Bed?

Duvets are, perhaps, the most important purchase when it comes to bedding. They are what gives the bed its personality and feel. They are what makes the bed fit seamlessly into your bedroom decor. They are also what keeps you warm and comfortable at night. So, what kind of duvet should you buy? Well, that depends on the kind of duvet that will meet your needs. There are no hard rules you must follow, but there are certain things to keep in mind.

Luxury Microfibre Duvet
For most people, price is a necessary starting point. Duvet prices can vary widely depending on manufacturer and material. If you are looking for luxury duvets, consider one made of pure silk, satin, or Egyptian cotton. They are all very luxurious fabrics that will feel heavenly on your skin. If your budget is less forgiving, consider Microfibre duvets. Microfibre is a man-made fabric that mimics the feel of other natural fabrics. Oftentimes, microfibre can feel similar to suede. It is very soft and still feels good on the skin, but it is a step down from the more luxurious fabrics previously mentioned. Microfibre is also not as breathable; therefore, it may not be the ideal choice if you are located in a hot climate.

Another thing to consider is filling. Most duvets have something inside, and you definitely want to know what that filling is before you make your purchase.  These days, most duvets are filled with down or down alternative. Down Duvets are made of goose feathers. It is very lightweight and warm, the perfect choice for someone looking for a thick winter duvet. Down alternative is just what it sounds like: an artificial type of feather. It is similar in its ability to provide warmth, but it is much easier on your pockets.

The fun part of choosing a duvet is selecting the color and design. These are the options that really bring most shoppers to life. Always consider the color scheme (if there is one) in your bedroom before making a purchase. You don’t want to get home with a duvet you love only to discover that it does not match your decor at all.

Finding the Best Duvet for Your Bedding Needs

A bedroom simply isn’t complete until the right duvet is purchased and put in place. It is the lynchpin that brings everything else together, so you want to be sure to get the correct one. In general, it comes down to price, fabric and filling

Price
For many, price is one of the deciding factors in whether or not they will buy a particular duvet. Luckily, there is a large variety in every price range, so even the lowest price point should still have a decent selection of colors and designs. However, it is important to know the lesser expensive duvet covers will likely be made of and filled with an artificial fabric like polyester or microfibre. Some people have an aversion to these fabrics, but many do not even notice the difference.

Fabric
The main fabrics used in duvets are cotton, silk, satin, polyester and microfiber. The first three in this list are likely to be more expensive (especially if they are 100% pure) but the latter two are usually more affordable. Cotton is the most popular and practical choice, mostly because it is so durable, versatile, and easy to maintain. Satin and silk are the more luxurious fabrics of the lot, but they are often considered an acquired taste. Because they are so lightweight and slippery, they don’t work well in colder climates, but are perfect for warmer environments where only a light blanket would be needed.

Filling
Many lower quality luxury duvets are filled with polyester or some other down alternative, but the higher quality duvets are often filled with down, which is made of goose feathers. Down duvets is very insulating and perfect for cold environments, but it can be an issue for people who allergies. Also, because down is made of feathers, it can sometimes become a problem when the tips of the feathers poke out of the fabric. This can be avoided if the duvet is padded.

Once you have settled on the price, fabric, and filling, be sure to choose microfibre duvets that complements the theme and feel of your room. Hopefully, it will be something you happily sleep under for years to come.

The Benefits of Microfibre Duvets

What is better than waking up on a chilly morning and feeling nothing but the soothing warmth of your duvet? When you can find a comforter that offers the right balance of warmth and weight, style and substance, and value and luxury, you’ll find yourself retiring to bed a little earlier than usual. Microfibre duvets are among the most popular choices, and for good reason. They offer a host of benefits.

Microfibre is a versatile fabric that is often used in clothing because it is soft yet durable. It can also have a variety of textures. Typically, duvets made from this material are very soft, smooth, and silky. Not only are they exceptionally comfortable, they add an air of elegance and refinement to any bedroom.

The synthetic fibres are much lighter than traditional feather down and this can be refreshing for those who want warmth without added weight. Another benefit is breathability, which is important in ensuring you have a good night’s sleep. Microfibre breathes well and will not trap moisture, like many other fabrics, including satin. You won’t wake feeling sweaty,  uncomfortable, or trapped by a heavy comforter.

The synthetic composition offers another benefit for users: it is anti-allergenic. The trouble with down duvets is that they trap allergens and can aggravate symptoms in some people. Microfibre solves this problem and allows everyone to enjoy the benefits of down without the sniffles and sneezes. You can snuggle up with confidence.

Microfibre is not as fussy as many fabrics; you can often clean it in a standard washing machine (though you may want to use a commercial model because of the size). The fibres stay put and do not migrate to the corners as down or cotton fillers do.

Luxury duvets offer durability, comfort, convenience, and even affordability.  There is no reason not to indulge.
