If you are like a lot of people, you have gone back and forth over whether you should buy memory foam mattress toppers. Some days, you are convinced you need it to have a good night’s rest. Other days, you are concerned they may not be worth the expense.

In this day and age of scams and gimmicks, you are right to be concerned, but memory foam mattress toppers are the “real deal.” Inspired by actual memory foam mattresses, foam toppers are a less expensive way for you to experience the indescribable feeling of sleeping on memory foam. True, there are some mattress toppers that are called memory foam, but are really just made of regular foam. These are not the ones you want to buy. The best mattress toppers will be made of authentic memory foam, which holds the imprint of whatever it has been supporting.

To be sure you are buying the real thing, touch it. Press your hand into the foam and look for a hand-shaped imprint after you pull your hand away. It should be a firm imprint that fades away slowly instead of disappearing instantly. Also, look at the wording on the package. Does it actually use the word “memory,” or does it just say “foam mattress”? Some cheap companies make their mattress toppers to look at lot like memory foam because they want people who are in a rush and looking to pay a low price to buy their mattress toppers, unaware of the fact that it is not what they really want or what they were looking for.
