What Kind of Bed Frame do I Need for my New Bed?

Countless options are available when it comes to bedding and bedding supplies. Buyers have to choose from mattresses, frames, sheets, comforters, bed skirts, pillow shams, headboards, and more. The possibilities can be confusing and frustrating. If you just purchased or are looking to purchase a new bed, consider the following before purchasing a frame.

First, it is important to know what a bed frame is. A bed frame is the supporting material that holds the mattress up. With no bed frame, the mattress would sit directly on the floor (and that’s ok for some people). Those who take a very minimalist approach to living may have no interest in a bed frame. However, those who do not want to be that close to the ground and who want to decorate their bedrooms in a different manner would likely be turned off by the sight of a mattress lying directly on the floor.

Traditional bed frames are made of metal. They look like a big, hollow metal rectangle with wheels on the bottom. When it comes to design, they are extremely simple and add nothing to the look of the bed. They are simply for support and height. They are inexpensive and are a good choice if you are on a strict budget and looking for cheap bed frames

A traditional metal bed frame is the way to go in that instance. However, if you have more money to spend and want to create a more contemporary or modern look in your room, consider a
Platform Bed
platform bed.
Platform beds are big platforms, usually made of wood or some other wood-like material that sits beneath the mattress. Because they are not hollow like metal bed frames, they have the added benefit of offering drawer space under the bed. This is the perfect option for anyone who needs more space.  Platform beds often add to the design of the room and, therefore, many owners choose to skip the bed skirt and ensure their comforters do not hang low enough to cover up their design scheme. In the end, either choice is perfectly fine. They both support the mattress, and that is the most important part of the bed structure.
